JEC Visual is the creative studio of visual artist and multidisciplinary designer Julio E. Carrillo. The studio operates at the intersection of collectibles, entertainment, and culture, helping forward-thinking brands and organizations communicate with clarity and purpose through design. We specialize in crafting visual systems, brand identities, and storytelling frameworks that support long-term creative and cultural relevance.

With over two and a half decades of experience in entertainment, design, and consumer products, Julio brings a deep understanding of how ideas translate across media, disciplines, and global markets. His career spans editorial, marketing, advertising, branding, product design, illustration, and creative direction. His approach bridges visual communication and physical product, allowing him to move fluidly between two-dimensional storytelling and three-dimensional experiences.

As Design Director at Kidrobot, a leading brand in art toys and pop culture collectibles, Julio leads design across product development, packaging, branding, and internal creative systems. His direction has shaped some of the company’s most iconic and best-selling releases, reinforcing its role within both the designer toy world and the broader creative economy. This work reflects his belief in design as a strategic and expressive tool that builds community, shapes perception, and drives long-term brand value.

In addition to leading JEC Visual, Julio is also the founder and Creative Director of Axóhl, a high-design label focused on collectible art objects and elevated home goods. Axóhl merges craftsmanship with storytelling to create products that are thoughtful in design and made to live meaningfully in both collections and interiors. This hands-on experience running a brand grounds the studio in the full product lifecycle. From concept and prototyping to manufacturing, marketing, and direct-to-consumer engagement, Julio remains actively involved in every stage. That perspective allows the studio to offer strategic guidance backed by real-world implementation across fast-paced, design-led, and culturally relevant industries.

This ongoing brand work keeps the studio engaged in constant innovation. By developing original intellectual property and navigating production realities, the team continues to test new ideas, explore materials, and refine processes. These learnings directly inform client collaborations. They allow the studio to move quickly when prototyping, solve problems with agility, and guide projects from early vision to final execution with clarity and confidence. This integrated approach helps align creativity with business objectives and product development with long-term impact.
